Read here about a cream to help skin that is thin because of pred. I know it is available in UK but want to do some research on availability here in Canada. Can someone give me the name of the cream? Thanks.

Cream for thin skin
It's called Doublebase Gel. In the UK it's available both on prescription and over-the-counter. In case you have something similar but with a different name, the main ingredients mentioned on the container are Isopropyl Myristate 15% w/w and liquid paraffin 15% w/w. Good luck!
Hi Celtic: Thanks for your quick reply. Have found this gel on Amazon.ca in Canada and can order it. It is imported from the UK.
It's DoubleBase gel. Looks like a cream, but isn't and for me it is wonderful. I can't stand anything vague greasy or oily on my skin, but this goes on like magic. Just had a look at mine and the only maker's/producer's name given is Dermal.
You could also try checking Diprobase - I am pretty sure they are the same family. Diprobase is much thicker and I have a tub which I use for hand washing as I can't use soap.
If you still need help, let me know and I will do a bit of digging this end.
Doublebase is great for thin, dry skin. I even use it on my feet.
I have been using aqueous cream for several years before I developed pr as a preventative really. Now i have thin skin on my arms due to the preds and wonder if Double Base gel would be better if I can get hold of it here in France.
Deemar, I agree with piglette, Doublebase is definitely preferable to aqueous cream. The National Eczema Society even warn that aqueous cream can cause further skin irritation for those with eczema which would make me suspicious of using it for any skin problems, including those caused by steroids.
Many thanks. I'll try and locate some Double Base.
Thanks to all of you for the info. Will order Double Base Gel from Amazon.ca here in Canada.
