Have been to the rheumatologist this week and had the methetextrate injection on Monday and the Cushing's type symptoms don't seem so evident, nor as bad. Very bad weekend. and I have had a couple of bad days this week. The advice is best, if you feel this -- give yourself "leave" to relax. This is difficult and you can't "push" this, it seems. I am still taking 3mgs of medrol a day. I took the cat scans for my brain, neck and back. Everything is the same, they said, there are dissections and an aneuyrism on my vertebral artery, and none have changed. They said this is good, especially that the aneuyrism has not gotten larger, nor moved.
However, I got very sick from the Cat Scans. They gave me the intravenous injection of dye. I was so dizzy, I could hardly sit up and had to wait for about an hour before going home, because I was so dizzy. Gave me apple juice, but it didn't help much. Finally I had to go, because I am using paratransit and they were at the hospital. (and they don't wait) Had a headache for two days. Treated it with migraine medicine and it is better. I did not increase the prednisone, which I had been doing about a year ago. That may be why I would get this horrific fatigue a few days later. Headache is almost gone. May have been the large amount of radiation from the Cat scan and the dye which caused the headache. Working as a paralegal I used to get really bad migraines and we finally figured out, part of it could well have been the closeness to the computer all day long, in addition to the long hours and tension. even a shield on my screen, didn't help too much.
Feeling better now. Will be seeing the heart doctor next week and having him look at the Cat Scans. They said the aorta was fine, which is another problem with GCA. good news !
Thank everyone for last weekend.
all my best, Whittlesey U.S.
