Ruptured cyst

Hi

I have PKD and PLD. A recent ultrasound showed up a cyst has been bleeding. I know it’s a common complaint but I’ve had no pain or indication this has occurred.

Otherwise good health with only raised BP kept in control. Brain aneurysms which too are monitored. No flank pain or discomfort, and wouldn’t know anything had happened. It is a common thing with this disease.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello! To me every time I had a mri, it showed some cists bleeding, although I felt nothing. So, I need to guess this is a common issue, in general, depending on how much it bled.

I guess it’s just another step in the Life of a PKD person. Got an appointment with Kidney consultant soon so se what he thinks.

Hi, this is extremely common. Usually paired with flank pain. I had a 5cm cyst burst and had pain for weeks which slowly got better. I was told as long as your kidneys are at a good function stage there's nothing to worry about is they will flush it away.

Many thanks for your reply. GFR is 56 so not mad kidney functions for an old gal of nearly 60!!!
