Sorry I don't know what type of adhesions they are, I just know I have alot of them all over my bowel/bladder/stomach lining etc and after a failed surgical attempt to remove them last week I need someone who knows what they are doing!!!!

I'm sure Judy and others will be able to answer your question, sorry I can't although a friend of mine has just had laparoscopic surgery with a MR Dixon at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol and is very impressed by him, I will try to find out more about his skills.

I'm so sorry you are in this situation, I hope that others post with their suggestions.

Hi there Lolly,

I can't answer your question, but I can add a little information if it helps.

Following a vaginal hysterectomy, I was subsequently opened up for a laporotomy to remove appendix, ovary & Fallopian tube.

As my wound burst, and there was a lot of internal bleeding, I seemed to grow many adhesions, and pain continued unabated.

A second, private gynaecologist performed another laparotomy 3 years later. He said he had removed a mass of fibrous tissue and adhesions that were around my pelvic organs.

However, he said, because again I bled SO much during surgery, the chances were that scar tissue and adhesions would grow again.

He actually said that it was a viscous circle, because the very act of surgery causes them!

This doesn't sound helpful I know. But I was told that it should be in my notes that I bleed so much during surgery, I don't clot properly.

SO, maybe I am unusual, and YOUR adhesions can be removed successfully.

I really hope so, and wish you all the best.

I hope someone more knowledgeable than me will contact you soon!

Best wishes, Suzi xx
