Hi all. I had pelvic muscle tension which was fully treated with biofeedback sessions 3yrs ago. But i just had some pain still after intercourse. Thats why i decided to have botox. Its 2 month now since i had injection into my vagina but i have all those pain in my pelvic area which i treated before botox. Im so sad that i had botox cause this pain started 1 week after injection and I thought it gets better but it didnt. Its 2 month now and still no improvement and i feel my pelvic is so tight specially when i seat i feel cramps in my bump muscles. Do you know how long it takes after injection for the pain to go away?

My PT from back home who treated all my pelvic spasm said , botox might have changed spasm relaxation pattern of your muscle.

Im so sad as botox gave me extra tension which i didnt have before it.

Many thanks

Sorry to hear that Botox has not been successful for you. I understand your frustration. I have also had Botox recently and the procedure has triggered thrush, which in turn has made the tightness worse in some areas of the muscles. I had my first Botox a couple of years ago which was successful, but not this time.

Thank you so much for the reply. The good thing is this botox is temporary . Do you know how long it stays in my body? Thanks 😘

Can i ask how was your spasm before botox? Cause literally i was fine , i just had some pain after intercourses. Maybe 300 was too much for me. I hope it goes away from my body after 4 months. Im just worried that it ruin the relaxation pattern of my pelvic muscle for longer😞

Before Botox I had tightness in muscles towards the front of the vagina. The Botox hasn't had any effect on these, but I can feel the difference in the deeper part of the pelvic floor. But this part was ok already!I hope you start to get better again soon.

I had the same thing a couple of months ago. Then I started seeing a pelvic floor pt who has helped release loads of tension in my pelvis and in my stomach. I still have a way to go but it's much better than it was before.

Thank you so much for the reply. I have a telephone consultation on Monday with a pelvic PT, lets see.

Sorry to hear this. Maybe it was too much in the wrong places. You might need a course of women’s pelvic floor physio to help relax the area again. Camilla Lawrence at 6physio in London is very good. Vikram Khullar in London at at Mary’s is also meant to be good for Botox and may be able to help further.

Just a question, what is bio feedback? I am trying everything I can to get relief from pelvic pain. Thanks!

Biofeedback is a series of physio sessions that help you to restore the relaxation of your pelvic muscles. It can also help you to strengthen your muscles. My PT used myotrac device and honestly after 10/15 sessions i was completely pain free. I used to have pain in my vagina rectum and urine tube after bowel movement, sex was impossible for me but after these sessions my pain went from10 to 2. At the beginning my muscle tonicity was 12/13 and my PT said this is the highest she has seen but it went to 0-1 after sessions. She used the device to give my pelvic some relaxation current to first relax it and then after few sessions she worked on its weakness.

I hope you find it helpful

Please ask any question, im happy to help.

I hear ya! I had Botox two weeks ago into my rectum and the tightness is off the charts! I hurt SO bad I can’t begin to tell u! I have taken my pain pills and done sitz baths and everything possible! I am SO depressed! It was suppose to help my feeling of having to poo all the time but it has increased it! I can’t do shit!!!! My colorectal doctor said it would last two months so that’s what we have to look forward to! I have tried stimulators for pain and acupuncture and pelvic therapy for 3 years! Nothing! I’m to the point I want my rectum out and that is drastic! I don’t have much of a choice! Been going on for six years going on seven!!!! I’m at my wits end! I hope that u can find some peace and be pain free in this new year! I hope to hear from u!!!! Take care!!!

I’ve had pelvic floor problems since 2015 after having an anuscope exam! Biggest mistake of my life!!!!!! I’ve seen two pelvic floor therapists with manometry and biofeedback!! Didn’t work after three years!!! Tried the align equipment to work the muscles but it makes me burn!!!!! Every therapeutic idea or med I’ve tried!!!! Had colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy and rectal ultrasound and two trials of stimulators and LIS surgery for fissure and numerous injections and hysterectomy! Everything under the sun! I also have levator ani from the anuscope exam!!!! Also had defacography!!!! Now I have tenesmus which is the feeling like u have to poo all the time! Was told the botox would help but now feel like I have to go all the time! The pressure is HORRIBLE!!!! The pain is HORRIBLE!!!! Pain pills don’t always help!!!! I’m at my wits end cuz I’ve tried EVERY treatment out there except for a pain pump inserted into the spine!!! Any ideas? How did all your problems start?

Oh im so sorry to hear all these. I really hope you feel better soon. I do t need to go toilet frequently i just had some pain in my rectum and burning and heaviness in my vagina 3 yes ago but it all vanished after biofeedback sessions . I had still some pain after sex which i wanted to remove with botox. But 2 months after injection i feel my pelvic is still heavy and tight and i didnt have any problem in my pelvic before botox . Cause physio helped to relieve it . But i think botox caused further problem and now i think i need to go back biofeedback to remove this heaviness. I think is more weakness rather than spasm. I really hope you feel better soon 😞🙏🏻

Thank u so much for your kind words. I’m going to reach back out to my pelvic therapist! Not sure we can do anything cuz everything is shut down! I too think botox made mine worse!!! I’ve pooped probably 7 times but feel like I have to all the time!!!!! It’s SO uncomfortable!!!!!! I can’t even leave the house!!!!!!!! I have no idea what else to do! I hope u can get rid of your problem too! This is NO way to live! I basically don’t! Please keep in touch!!! I’ll be thinking about u! They say this happens to older people but I had never heard of it!!!! I hate getting old!!!! 🙏💕
