I am just starting my journey into trying for a baby with my partner and obviously fertility is an issue for people with pcd. I’ve never had my fertility checked and just wondered what experiences people could share with their journey into parenthood and trying to conceive and if you were able to conceive naturally or needed help? Any advice would be massively appreciated,
Thanks x

Firstly, this is great news! I never had a fertility check either, and neither did my husband, but we never gave up hope and I was, luckily, able to successfully conceive naturally (a while ago now, in 2000). It did take a couple of years, and we were starting to think about getting tested when I discovered that I was pregnant. The pregnancy and birth both went fairly well and, even though I never got pregnant again, our view is that my ability to have 1 child despite my PCD was a massive achievement and such a blessing, and we couldn't be happier. I really hope you're able to conceive naturally or with help, and start a family - Good Luck! x
Hi there,I am a male with PCD and have issues with fertility. My wife and I were trying to have a child for 7 years. I had to go to an IVF clinic and I was tested by a Urologist that they had on site. In the end the urologist had to extract my sperm and use them to fertilize my wife's eggs. We only managed 3 perfect embryos but the first one that was implanted into my wife resulted in our baby girl in May 2020. We will try to have baby #2 in 2022. So have hope and stay strong. Good luck on your journey!
