Hi bink,

I have been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis as well as PBC. I take steroids and on my next consultant appointment I will be put on azathioprine. I initially was sent into hospital with jaundice and sever upper right abdomen pain...this disease just came out of the blue..it is a shock to find you have this but it is manageable with correct treatment.

See Lindolous question posted yesterday about Steroids and AIH/PBC overlp syndrome. I was diagnosed last year more or less at the same time. X

I also posted a question re this subject on 21 Dec. Have a look through the other blogs/questions as some discuss this condition. There are now quite a few of us have this overlap syndrome. X hope this helps. X

Hi Blink, I have just started taking steroids for PBC/AIH overlap as my ALT (i think) were not coming down fast enough with Urso. I have found lots of info on this site about what can be done, everyone is so helpfull and makes you realise you are not alone.

Just had a look through 'Jtxx' 21st Dec question, this really helped, did not see that before - thanks again xxx

I have Hep C overlapped by PBC I did the interferon / pegaus treatment 7 years ago I fell below the 1 million copies and was cleared. This last physical the liver enzeymes where elevated and with further testing and a liver biopsy it was concluded that the Hep C is active and has over laapped to PBC. I started taking URso 1200 mg a day and Vit. D and if I have good results in September I will do another year long round of Interferon/Pegas treatment its yucky have to give my self injections once a week that always lead to a bad 1st 24 hours but if it will tame the beast inside me that is trying so hard to take away my joy then its all worth it. . Hope this helps
