Has anyone got fibromyalgia aswell as pbc

Like all to many others, I have multi auto immune conditions on top of PBC. I was found to also have PBC while on chemo for an even rarer auto immune condition, called Poyl Arteritis Nodas, a condition that destroys the medium size arteries in the body. Only treatement for that is chemo. A part of the arteritis for the long term is fibromyalagia which is profoundly debilitating, and combined with my one and only original condition of Osteoarthritis. It was after knee replacement surgery that I began to suffer with contracting these conditions. Mornings are dreadful, can hardly move let alone get out of bed or walk. The muscle pain is simply crushing, despite high doses of pain relief. To complete my case, I also developed hypothyroidism while on chemo too! So I have four autoimmune conditions, which makes it hard to get ahead of any of them.

Honey, I have so many algias, itis', tosis', and osis' syndromes and diseases it is mind bogling. Unfortunately having one auto-immune disiease seems to preclude having others. So many of us have many things to deal with. I wish we could each have a health professional who could help keep track of everything for us.

I was diagnosed with fibro just before I got the pbc diagnosis. The thing I find hardest is coping with the fibro pain with just paracetamol. They just dont touch it and not allowed anything stronger with the pbc.

zipitydoo ive fibro too yet i have patches and use co codamol as a top up when needed, all approved by doc. i have a pbc consultant appt nxt week so will check with him hope its ok

I was using co codamol but got awful headaches with it so the gp suggested I stop taking them. Would be very interested to hear what your consultant says about the patches as I have never tried them.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and pbc within 2 months of each other in 2008 and osteo arthritis in my feet just a few weeks ago. x

My sister has got Fibromyalgia and was saying the symptoms i have as well as pbc are just like hers My docs just screwed up his nose as if to say [are you the doctor] when i asked if i might have it . Thanks for all your replys
