I keep getting refused for DLA. :-( Perhaps i will stand more chance when they change it to PIP.

Ive been refused twice in the last few weeks, the 2nd time was after asking them to review my application after sending in a letter from my GP, not going to appeal as i cant be doing with the stress of it. If you dont mind me asking what is PIP.

PIP is personal Independence Payment. Which is going to take over from DLA next year.

I was the same last year not taking it to appeal but my brain has got so much worse I hate to think what it might be like trying to get it another time so have decided to continue trying.

Just had a look at PIP, dont really understand.....what i did understand was that if we receive DLA (in my case indefinitely but that doesnt count anymore), that we will all be reassessed by none other than ATOS. Great! :(

Now this is new (PIP) also to me as unfamiliar with DLA and the other ESA that have seen mentioned on this site.

I decided to have a look online as Val02 says she has and a bit confused really as it states on section 1 of page 2 in the 4th point:- "It will help towards some of the extra costs arising from having a long term condition (this means ill-health or disability expected to last 12 months of longer)."

Does this mean that more PBC patients would qualify?

Not read through all the document but you can find it at

Hopedully this will help PBC sufferers but on this link question 19 is asking for input from organisations and individuals so I have sent Collette & Robert the link. Fingers crossed it maybe help those who need help if the PBC Foundation get involved in the consultation process to help the powers at be understand what PBC is all about. X
