light therapy

This is a potential treatment for difficult to control itching.

It is thought that the light therapy breaks down the irritants (bile acids possibly) that cause the itch sensation. This therapy is something you need to have a conversation with your doctor about. The amount of light therapy needs to be monitored as to avoid the danger of skin cancer.
