Thrombocytopenia

Hi all, I have just been diagnosed with autoimmune thrombocytopenia, which is very low platelet count and can cause bruising and excessive bleeding. Diagnosed with PBC in 2018. Just wondered if anyone else has this as I know that we can be prone to more than one autoimmune condition.

I have PBC and my platelets are up and down but there are many with low platelets, have your platelets been down since 2018 or they just went down, mine was high when first diagnosed?

Hi Sophia, I had my gall bladder removed in April when they found I had a low platelet count. I have had further blood tests and the count is getting lower. Saw the haematologist yesterday who diagnosed the cause. I am covered in bruises and bleed excessively if I catch myself on anything sharp. I am 71 and live in UK. On Urso and been very lucky as haven't had any other symptoms.
