Raynaud’s syndrome

In the past couple of years this condition is affecting me more and more. I’ve been prescribed Nifedipine - with the option to take 3 times a day but I’m wary of effect on my liver. I would be grateful for any thoughts on the matter

Hi DebatDG9

I had the same dilemma. My liver is already compromised due to life saving medication which I had had to take.

For several months I took only the medication for my liver. Then my hands became so painfull and my nails so damaged that I decide to give in and now take amlodipine - it may well be further damageing my liver - but as the consultant said to me, it is, ultimately, my call.

Perhaps you could try the nifedipine, but ask for regular blood checks to monitor your liver?

Wishing you all the best wharever you decide.

Hi Magria

Many thanks for your reply.

I have bloods every 3 months so will be monitoring any effect that the Nifedipine may have. Even in this cold weather I am trying to only take the morning dose unless I’m going out in the evening.

Im trying to stay as warm as possible wearing 4 layers of clothing made up of different textiles- silk long johns are great under jeans- and alpaca wool socks have saved me!

Hope this is a happy & healthy year for us both

How many days supply of urso do you get prescribed?

for 30 days (that is the denomination apparently). I managed to get 90 days but couldn't get more.
