Going into the 3rd month.
Alternating clay and orange colored.
4 times a day
not much notice either, usually starts with mucous leaking out, then the big gush.
Mentioned it to my Gastro/hep Dr. ...He said to take Immodium .
I am stage 4 PBC

Good morning Pheebe
Have you been taking the immodium and if you have has it helped?
I suffer with severe anal discharge so I can in part empathize with your situation however as your heading says, how long can you go on like it. Your situation must be impacting on your daily life.
Your profile does not say which country you are in but your spelling suggests you are in the USA. If you are not confident with your specialist can you easily get a second opinion? Have you been scheduled for investigations to find the cause or is this a side effect from some medication you are taking? More questions than answers I'm afraid. With that amount of loss I think you will need electrolytes, your pharmacist should be able to help with that.
I believe it will be important for you to stay well hydrated.
best wishes
Hate to tell you that I have had diarrhea for 12 years. Sometimes up to 15 times a day. Went on Omeprazole and that's helpful but no solution. Can't take loperimide/immodium as I blow up and get sick! You learn to live with it
