These are the liver values my specialist monitors monthly (for now) and the normal values for each.

Normal ALP - 35-120

U/LNormal ALT - less than 36 U/L

Normal AST - less than 30 U/L

Normal GGT - 12-37

U/LNormal Bilirubin Total - less than 20 umol/L

What the normal levels are for the lab used, depends where you are , they can be different so be careful with comparisons. However, most labs, put the normal range in brackets on the print out. If you don’t have the print out you can ask you doctor for one.

The lab used where I live gives an ALP of up to 115 as being the top figure for the normal range , anything over is considered high.

Sorry I don’t know the ALT it’s not one I routinely follow for my PBC as it’s always normal.

My hepatologist monitors the alk phos...he wants it under 150. But I believe others on here will say anything under 200 is good for someone with pbc.

At my appointments we tend to just keep an eye on ALP, under 200 is what we are aiming for though I haven’t achieved that yet in almost 3 years of treatment.

Most doctors dont know enough about pbc to explain much, but your consultant should know more than the others. I learned everything from my hepatologist. Very thorough explanations from him.
