Hi I’m Jen just got my test results back last night AMA Positive /NASH Fatty liver disease positive I have a gastroenterologist appt the 25th just had an ultrasound yesterday my Dr isn’t really telling me a whole lot until I meet with the gastrointestinal dr I’m not sure what I’m supposed to I guess just wait for my gastroenterologist to speak with me on the 25th ... what I do know is that my PH liver enzymes were slightly elevated but nothing else except that my AMA came back positive and that my dr said she wants to talk to my gastroenterologist and pass all this info onto him out of concern for an autoimmune disease that’s it ... I am the one that researched what the heck AMA Is and what PBC is so I’m scared as a mother of three small children .... sorry for repeating myself as you can tell I’m nervous and hoping this is what I’m supposed to do ... wait for my gastroenterologist appt?

Hi, Jen.

I know this is not as easy as it seems, but relax.

We don't have all the information we need to help you specifically, and PBC isn't as simple as AMA+. Even if it is PBC, there is not a huge amount of harm that will come to you between now and your appt on 25th.

So relax... and breathe...

For what it's worth, my mother has been diagnosed with PBC for 24 years.

So relax... and breathe...

Between the collective wisdom here, I am sure we will be able to help. But first things first: let's find out what comes on 25th and then we can see how best to help you.

As you are new here, you won't necessarily know who I am or that I am open to contact re specific questions. You can look for my posts on here. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

Yours,

Robert.

Don’t panic & jump to unnecessary conclusions. We all tend to do that. The gastroenterologist will help you.

In the meantime, try to relax & spend time with your children to keep your mind off of this.
