Hi everyone I am new here. I haven’t been diagnosed with PBC but some of my tests point that way. I have a high Alk p and a positive ama and Ana. I also have a high result from my gamma gt test. But my liver tests are all normal and the MRI (Mrcp) I just had is normal.
My doctor won’t do a biopsy because not all my tests are “positive”. I have been itching for 2 months now and I don’t know how much more I can take. What did any of you do to convince your doctor to keep on looking!
Thanks for reading. 😅

My doctors confirmed PBC in me on just my elavated Alk-phos and positive AMA. Just those 2 things. I did have an MRCP also an ERCP and a biopsy all which didn't show anything related to PBC. But because of the two other factors, the elevated alkaline phosphatase and the positive AMA they said I had PBC. I didn't have any itching at all and I still don't. But many others that do have PBC have itching. I do have achy joints and terribly dry eyes which are all other symptoms of PBC. I'm not sure if there are other liver diseases that coincide with the test results you've had but it sounds like PBC as far as everything I've read here on Health Unlocked. I would find a doctor that can get you started on URSO soon. The earlier you start the medication the better the outcome, or so I've read. You've come to the right place. Read all you can. Join the foundation above. And maybe educate your doctor by giving him/her information you find here. It's a very slow progressive disease for most. I'm sorry you're here, but again, I think you found the right place. ❤
Mine was exactly like yours.... and some of the liver doctors on the panel said with just the 3 tests you listed positive for me too but other test normal that it was too soon for itching 🙄 but one doctor put me on urso and I stopped itching .... now only occasionally itching but all phos is finally normal 😊 find you a md that is not afraid to try urso in early early stages..... may prevent progression for a very long time
