I was dx in 2012 but can't tell you why our bones ache but mine are really painful the last few years seen a rheumatologist and she thinks it down to the pbc which liver doc agreed with but no explanation why. Been on a clinical trial for the last year bloods have come down but no help with the symptoms
I was diagnosed in 2009, two years ago my bones hurt especially the legs and feet my consultant didn't think it was the PBC and sent me to rheumatology who suspected fibromyalgia but with no definitive test for it it's difficult to tell.
It was ruled out by a second rheumatologist and I was found to be seriously low in vitamin D, three months of high dose vitamin D and following up with a maintenance dose the pains were almost gone. It's quite common for those with PBC to be deficient in vitamin D, I would get it tested as a precaution.
