Very odd, I have never felt any discomfort during an ultrasound scan. Very interested to hear what others say.
My last one was very uncomfortable. But the tech said she was a pusher and apologized
I had one while suffering some upper abdominal discomfort, so found that one uncomfortable while it was being done , but not had any lasting pain.
I've never experienced what I would call pain when having ultrasounds - even when a transvaginal ultrasound is done as well (in fact I find that the ultrasound radiographers are more gentle and careful than most nurses who do a cervix check!). There can be some discomfort if they have to push and probe a bit - but I've never had pain with just a liver, gall bladdr, pancreas etc ultrasound. Eg my last one was endometriosis related, and she had trouble seeing my right ovary, and she had to - almost, push some of the bowel out of the way - to see the ovary (sorry tmi!). Bet generally, no pain.
Did you tell them at the time??
I to felt soreness or tender spots during my scan. They noticed a small place they will recheck in march.
