I am 81. Just diagnosed and I believe I am in stage 3.
I am 67 at stage 4 but have had pbc for 24 years
I'm 74 and was diagnosed 2 years ago, I think I have had it for a long time. Kandiepat
I'm 71 diagnosed by chance through blood test for something else 3years ago so could have had it before
Very interesting question. I am wondering if most people with PBC don't make it that long, or if doctors aren't as likely to test for PBC in geriatric populations. Please share data if you find someone in their nighties with PBC and what brought them to the doctor and why He/she got tested?
Thanks!
Hi. My mother died at 102 from old age and heart problems plus general organ breakdown. She was never diagnosed with PBC but was treated with painkillers for "rheumatism" for many years. She has the itch, aching joints and muscles, brain fog, dry eyes and mouth for which she had drops and pastille and also suffered severe fatigue. We all put it down to old age but since being diagnosed myself I'm certain that's what she suffered from for at least 20 years. Wish I'd known them what I know now. I may have been able to help more.
Pah!!
You're all just babes in arms!! Our oldest member on record was 103 when she passed (and it wasn't PBC).
Wow, I seem to be a baby with PBC 🤗. I was diagnosed at 36, now 43.
