Hi mandible, As we all know the body works in different ways. The way I found out I had PBC was through a blood test. I have had a few spots and got told they were blood related. It's always a good thing to check with your consultant about diets . I eat as normal as I can now but due due to my anti rejection tablets there are certain foods I have to avoid. Good luck and take care..

Thanks brummi

I see specialist on Wednesday to confirm what stage im at which appears to be st2.so fingers crossed hel help me.

Yes I have got a few on the top of my buttocks but that's all really. Not sure if we are of the one and same here but I think mine are due to small fatty desposits that you can acquire in various places.

I think that is what mine is but despite me catching them when I itch at night, they do seem to be vanishing but due to catching them often I am going to be left with a few scars now.

Hi mandible. My arms are covered in those red bumps and they hurt and itch like hell. I have scabs all over my arms as well as some permanent scars. I was told that liver problems cause skin issues - it's all related to the blood. I'm always covered up when I go out because my arms look so disgusting. The only thing that has slightly helped is hydroxyzine tabs,50 mg. which I take 4X a day. Sometimes the Sarna lotion which has menthol and camphor in it helps to cool the burning feeling down. Mine is worse at night. It can be so bad that I can't sleep which adds to the fatigue the following day. My Dr put me on cholestramine which combined with urso is suppose to help with the PBC itching. It didn't.

Hello gaby1011. My itching has caused small scars on my legs from my just below my knees. A few inches up from my ankles there is really no sign of any. Despite my arms itching on/off at times I don't seem to have any signs of anything there as yet. Doubt I'd wear shorts these days due to how awful my calves appear at present.

Apparently PBC and anything liver-related can cause skin problems. I know when one developed a bruise from a bump, that slowly started to fade and would go yellow before vanishing. The yellow was bile. Since diagnose 2010 I have noticed that if I rarely bump myself the bruise fades but I never seem to see or have very little yellowing these days although the bruise does seem to go fairly quickly. I think this is more than likely due to the fact that we are now with a compromised bile flow as PBC is and thought we are taking the urso as a component of bile, being synthetic it just isn't the same as our own.

I have noticed in the past year that with itching, my skin has taken on a bronzey tone behind my calves.
