EMPLOYMENT and SUPPORT ALLOWANCE ADVICE PLEASE

I was moved from support group to back to work group last May, I appealed on the grounds that no circumstances had changed and provided documentation from my Psychiatrist. I received a letter a few days ago saying they have reconsidered their decision and have now been placed in the support group. I would like to ask if anybody knows if I will be backdated money from last may when I was moved into the back to work group or does it go by the appeal date decision?

It should be when you appealed against it which I would presume was last May.

I was also moved to work related group in May last year, having attended the ATOS Medical. My appeal was heard in May this year and I was placed back into the Support group. I have received back payment from June last year when the new rate of benefit changed after the medical. Hope this helps good luck

You should receive payment from Last May. The rate changed this April. If you are on contributory you will not be able to access the same "passports" to other help, which the income related lets you access. The peace of mind from not having to constantly provide "fit notes" unless they are asked for is a bonus. Good luck.
