Is it worth pursuing a B12 diagnosis? I was diagnosed with MS 15years ago. I've got all the symptoms, but never had PA ruled out.

I recently discovered my gg-grandmother and her niece died of PA in the 1920's. That goes back awhile, so I don't know if it would count.

My most recent blood test results were fairly normal except a few borderline ones.

B12 370

Hgb 137

Hct 0.42

RBC 4.33

MCV 94

MCH 32

RDW 13.60

WBC 4.70

Platelets 179

MPV 10.10

RBC Flolate 2268

Homocysteine 8

They tested Differential WBC's, but I don't know where those fit in. The doctor says all looks good, but my symptoms tell me it doesn't feel good. I'd really appreciate some advice. Thank-you

MS and PA both have the same symptoms. you could have been misdiagnosed , particularly since there is a family history of PA.

in any case , it is usual to give injections of B12 some years after a diagnosis of MS , since PA ''develops'' anyway.

Your level of 370 is below what the Japanese normal range of 500-1300 is.

the Japanese have measured the B12 levels in the blood and also in the brain/spinal chord . for a healthy brain and spine , you need a blood serum level of at the very least 500 in your arm say, and 1300 would be better.
