I want to share this small (HUGE) win with people who understand

Been injecting for 2 years this month. I've had some setbacks due to other health conditions I had to figure out but I've been a million times better even with all that going on.

Anyway, I've still had some nerve issues i assumed were permanent from decades of untreated PA but they were more inconvenient than life altering.

I was still unable to wear shirts with the elastic sleeve end. You know the kind where at the wrist it's bunched up , tight and stretchy. The mild pressure would cause nerve pain in my arm. I avoided wearing anything that puts even the slightest pressure on my arms like bracelets.

Well, in the past few weeks I've been able to wear my favorite shirt with the elastic cuff without any pain at all. No tingling, nothing. So I decided to try wearing my fit bit on my wrist.

NO PAIN. NO TINGLING!

I can even sleep with it on! I've never been able sleep with in on in over 15 years of trying. Even wearing it loose while sleeping I'd be woken up several times with my whole arm asleep and in pain from the pressure of my arm resting on it and remove it.

Small wins are huge with this condition. Never thought this particular thing would get better.

That is all :)

Marvellous! As you say, sharing with people who can really understand the significance of a change that could seem so small to non PA sufferers... It gives such hope. I'm 17 months into injections and still expecting/hoping for improvement, so it's great to hear this happening for you 2 years in. Wishing you many more small wins 🙏🏼

A win's a win !

I remember the first time I actually knew that the nurse had finished doing my B12 injection, without having to ask "Are we done yet ?"

This was on 23rd December, 2016 - it really felt like a Christmas present !

I had been diagnosed with functional B12 deficiency, so had had my B12 injections restarted at a frequency of 2 injections a week for the previous 3 months.

Here, finally, was proof that this was starting to work. and yes, improvements did continue for far longer than expected.

Sometimes, you start to doubt whether there isn't something else, something not picked up. You need this type of confirmation just to stick to the programme, don't you ?

I've now stopped trying to reduce my frequency. There is nothing to be gained by doing so - and so very much to lose.

Hope your small win is confirmation that more could be on the way !
