Has anyone used services like Thriva for example for active b12 and folate of full thyroid panel? Just wondered if these can then be used within your NHS records as its a private company and if the gp would listen to anything that flagged up on them?

Private testing

Try and get what you csn with thd NHS as G.ps prefer using NHS labs. And will mostly act on those results .I realise tge total panel for thyroid not done by The NHS ?
Discuss this with G.p as you want them to take note of any private tests .
if you use Monitor My Health which is an NHS run service , ( they use the NHS hospital lab in Exeter), then it's more difficult for GP to just dismiss results out of hand as potentially inaccurate (which they sometimes tend to do with private blood tests)
however , if a GP doesn't want to take private / fingerprick results into account , then they won't no matter who does them .
but using MMH does at least give you a counter argument that "it's an NHS lab , so if you really believe they are inaccurate, you should take it up with the NHS"
they can't use them for anything officially like diagnosis though .... partly because it could be anyone's blood you sent in, not necessarily your own .
Some people's GP do agree to put private results on to NHS record if asked . but some wont .
Unfortunately my surgery won't accept private test results even ones done by Monitor My Health. (I have tried!)
But I still get tests done privately to help myself and to keep monitoring my B12 and thyroid issues.
I still refer the private results to the GP if something shows up and so they are like a prompt for my surgery to do their own testing. So I still find it worthwhile.
