It’s about oral health and its affect on the body with an emphasis on root canals and dead teeth. They also discuss how gums are an entry point for harmful microbes, connecting to the gut. Intestinal permeability and low acidity are mentioned.

Not specific to b12 deficiency but no doubt related in the context of mouth/gut health generally.

Thank you MorningMist . May not be directly specific to B12 deficiency , but as P.A. Patients are already disadvantaged in the “gut” department , due to having low or no stomach acid which affects the microbiome, the oral microbiome is especially important .

Interesting .Gums and teeth are affected by b12 deficiency so defeeiation coukd expose the things that information is about ?

I had alot of dental work and one extraction when able after B12 Injections commenced.

Must've been a year later.

Also oral thrush for the first time evef

I asked the Head of my dental practice if b12 affected your oral health and teeth.

He replied of course it does.

I couldnt ask more as he had to get on with the job in hand.

I do wonder if dentists know more than doctors about B12 ??

Could they see changes on check ups and advice on B12?

.

Possibly dentists are more aware as they deal with oral health and it is areas with a high cell turnover that are particular affected by b12 deficiency. They can see that clearly without the need for ambiguous tests.

So b12 likely affects the oral microbiome which in turn affects the gut and that alone can lead to reduced acid production and malabsorption. It shows the need for a whole body approach to health.
