Has anyone tried passiflora (passion flower) for anxiety?
I'm trying it tonight to see if it helps. It doesn't seem to have a lot of contraindications, and seems to be a more natural alternative to benzodiazepines.

Any thing natural is worth a try if it helps with the anxiety.
At present I am trying homoeopathic medicine to try and help reduce my uric acid which seems to be working ! 🤞
Do let other suffer's know if the passiflora helps you.
I also am trying homeopathic remedies. Aconite in a 30c potency has really helped. I bought it over the phone from Helios pharmacy in Covent Garden for about £6. Also Bachs rescue remedy (a flower essence) has been really useful to, you can get that from boots or Amazon.
Bachs rescue remedy might help Laverdista with his Anxiety !
What do you take the Aconite for ? I am taking Hamamelis 30c and Acid Benzonic 30c for my high uric acid level and have to say it seems to be helping. My inflammation levels were sky high so that I were suffering the most excruciating joint pain.
My Rheumy and Gp were prescribing me steroids which were doing more harm than good.
Homeopathic preparations at dilutions of 30C are extremely unlikely to contain even a single molecule of the original substance. Unless other active ingredients are used in the formulation, any effect would be due to contamination, a formulation mistake (which could be very dangerous in homeopathic remedies as the original substances can be highly toxic) or placebo.

Hi Technoid,
I buy from a reputable homeopath, if homeopathy was good enough for the Queen and Princess Diana, it is good enough for me ! By using homeopathy I have reduced both my inflammation and reduced my uric acid level. I would much rather take the homeopathic rout than take the various 'harmful steriods' prescribed me by my Rheumatologist. I was prescribed a 'black box' steriod which has claimed lives !..............
What is the difference between homeopathy and conventional medicine? Allopathy: Uses drugs and sometimes surgery to treat ailments. Homeopathy: Focuses on improving the body's response to the disease, using minimal doses in diluted form.
I'm afraid I do not agree your theory and have used homeopathy for many years on both myself and animals. I treated a young fox suffering with acute mange with success to the delight of my neighbours.
Homeopathy and conventional medicine: an outcomes ...
The adverse events for those treated with conventional medicine was 22.3% versus 7.8% for those treated with homeopathy.
CBD oil, Hemp, Marijuana are also now widely used to treat a variety of ailments !
Definitely agree about steroids having potential negative long term health consequences - my mum was on a course of them for many years and caused many issues 😔
On the homeopathic front, I'm not stating a theory, just pointing out that the probability of any active ingredient being left after so many dilutions is virtually nil. This is something accepted by homeopathic medicine since they believe the formulations work via "water memory" : en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat... .
Homeopathic medicine has been used since the victorian era ! I can only quote since taking it my uric acid levels have gone down as has my inflammation.
As for the little fox with mange. I witnessed the transformation with my own eye's !
Given a choice of a black box medicine that could have killed me or the homeopathic medicine I know which one I would rather take..... The Royal family favour it and as I said before if good enough for them its good enough for me.
OK. After a few days of testing (40 drops of passiflora in a glass of water, equal to 200mg a time - you can take this up to 3 times a day), I can confirm that passiflora DOES have a calming effect on the nerves, although not as much as diazepam. However, it's a lot more natural and (as far as I'm aware) not addictive. Your mileage may vary, as our American cousins say! 🙂
