I have the excellent Chandy book on B12 Def. I recommend it anyone with PA/B12 Def. issues.
From reading it....I have a question ref B12 absorption, using subcutaneous injection.
Dr Chandy ( book ref 3.5.1.2) says that "...some people may observe a red bruising at the injection site...this may be B12 trapped in the fatty layer..." - He doesnt say how long it might be there..he just says its now absorbed as fast as IM.
Can anyone tell me how long does it take for a SubCu B12 depot injection of 1ml fluid into the abdomen take to be fully absorbed? ..and can B12 pool for longer than say a day or two..?
Thanks lovely folks.

Looking at my tummy now, I have three pink marks. I SI every day, so it seems to take about 3 days to disappear. I just ignore the marks. There are lots of people on this forum who have used both IM and SC (at different times) and found no difference in symptom outcome.
I always get lumps and bruises if I inject Subcutaneously into my thighs. With sometimes a little spot of blood . With intra .muscular , it leaves no trace at all , and is for me the best way to inject B12 . I use the finest needle that I can find — 26G x 1inch .
I find that both methods are the same regarding effectiveness.
