First jab advice please

Did my first jab around 1pm today. Only 0.5mls of hydroxycobalamin from a 30ml jar, as had ended up ordering from 2 places and this was what arrived first and I thought I'd go with my doctor's and the company's suggested dosage schedule (0.5mls every other day for loading doses.) The other supply I've ordered is 1ml ampoules from Germany, still on their way.

The syringe was tiny with a tiny needle, and after days of anticipation it was all painless and straightforward (though I felt a bit of a rush and heat afterwards..) SI in my plentifully squidgy tum BTW...

Now however, about 6 hours later, I've had a complete energy crash, feel heavy, a bit nauseous, a little headachy, almost hungover.. Is this normal?? If so, what can I expect as time goes by?

Also, any advice about dosage if the German 1ml ampoules arrive soon? Should I switch to the 1ml doses or best stick to the 0.5mls?

So reassuring to know other people have been there with this journey. Any suggestions please?

Scientist, not medic.

The 30 ml vial isn't ideal for someone self-injecting due to the amount of time it takes to use up. Take great care, and then some, to make sure you don't contaminate the vial with constant re-sampling. It may seem a waste, but just take care. If it were me, once the 1ml vials arrive, I'd throw away whatever's left of the 30ml one. They're more suited to use in a clinic where lots of patients are injected in a short time, and they have the appropriate aseptic technique and training.

I'm sure you'll soon be on the mend; I'm equally sure there will be others who will advise!

Thanks, that sounds like very sensible advice. Hadn't thought of the clinic context for the 30ml vial.

Cheers. No doubt someone will remind me [again] that Type 1 Diabetics routinely have injections from multi-use insulin vials, and that's a fair criticism. Single-use vials [to me] make much more sense. Life's risky enough as it is!
