hello All,

I received some blood work back and I noticed my liver enzymes are high alt and ast. I am injecting EOD now and on 6th week. just curious because thats the only thing that has changed since my last blood work is I am now doing injections not just oral liquid sublingual. thank you for any comments.

Interpreting the significance (or lack thereof) of elevated ALT and AST is fairly tricky. It depends what you mean by "high". Here is a physician guide, just to illustrate the complexity of investigating mildly elevated ALT and AST (less than five times the upper limit of normal.

hello Technoid,

so my ast was at the border 40 so thats not bad and my alt was 46 and the max range was 32 so not to bad either.

I am not clinically trained but from my understanding, these are not high enough to have any real clinical significance - likely your PCP would have mentioned it to you if they were.

Hi. I've just slipped off the edge on this one, I'm afraid. Liver enzymes are outside my usual area. Sorry I can't be more help.

JesusMercy60 - IM injections can elevate liver enzymes. My enzymes (alt /ast) increased for about 4 months and then normalized. Have been normal going forward. I do sub cut injections.
