I'm assuming you had the ferritin infusion on instruction from a haematologist. With these questions it would be advisable to discuss with her/him but failing that, your GP. Good ferritin level. I hope that has improved your symptoms.

I am assuming that the results you are quoting a ferritin rather than the results of a full iron panel.

Ferritin is a protein that is used as an indicator for iron status but it doesn't tell the whole story so is really intended to be a flag that investigating with a full iron panel would be a good idea.

RBD indicates the amount of variation in the size of your blood cells. It can be high for a lot of reasons including recovering from anaemia or because you have different anaemias going on (eg iron deficiency v B12 deficiency, or it could just be that that is normal for you. The limits are normal ranges where about 90% of the population are okay but some people naturally sit outside these ranges.

As Orchard33 says probably best to follow up with your GP. HU isn't a substitute for professional medical advice.

It's tedious, I know, but we really could do with the full picture of 'numbers' to add much more.

I have tried to attach copies of recent tests but I can’t seem to attach more than one photo..what specific tests would give a fuller picture please?

Serial FBC results would be a place to start. Hb, RBC, MCV, RDW for starters.

Hope this helps.

Scientist, not medic. It suggests you've been iron deficient but you're recovering from it. Keep atit, and don't worry! You're doing OK.
