hi, I hope you can help me understand my blood test results. The first and only time asking questions on here I was given 100% answers thanks. It’s been a little over three months since I started B12 self injections every other day for two weeks and some of my issues went so I si once a week and they started to come back, so every other day it was then and around six weeks later hay presto 90% better, then felt bad again and si every day because of the cold weather and felt good again nearly 100% . Had my blood test and they say I am not anemic , so what is it . I had to argue to see my results which I now have but would like a better explanation and understanding of what it is about. Being "not anemic" usually means your iron levels are OK. But it sounds extremely likely you have pernicious anemia (lack of intrinsic factor that means your body does not effectively transport the B12 into your body) because of the good response you have to the B12 and the sliding backwards when you decrease the dose. Keep injecting enough to stay symptom free.

There are more than 400 types of anemia, and they're divided into three groups: Anemia caused by blood loss. Anemia caused by decreased or faulty red blood cell production. Anemia caused by destruction of red blood cells.
