What syringes do you get? What's the finest needle you can use? When I started SI I hardly felt it. I think my nerves have mended and my skin has literally got thicker.

I need to get a new batch of syringes soon.

Thanks for any recommendations. I'm in UK.

I always use a 2.5 ml luer lock syringe , as it keeps the needle firmly locked in place I use a 2ml syringe for a 1ml ampoule (£12.90 + VAT) for 100

For IM injecting, I use a BD Blunt needle to withdraw the B12 from the ampoule .

For injecting, a 25G x 1inch unisharp needle .( orange) or a slightly finer 26G x 1inch — unisharp ( brown)

All obtainable from medisave.co.uk

I use a 25G or 27G needle which are very narrow but work for me. As I have a lot of weight on my thighs, I use a 1.5inch (40mm) needle. It's hard to find a supplier and I mega-stocked up some time ago. I draw up from the vial with a 23G.

I had an injection recently by a pharmacist and for the 1st time it didn't hurt and when I said this she told me that she injected slowly not in just one push and it worked as I didn't feel the B12 go in which I normally do. So thought I would share this .

Yes, I try to do it slowly and that does help. It's all about finding the right spot, then it's fine. I had to inject medicine in the past. Then it was very fine needles I was supplied with and it was easy. Again why we need proper health service support. It's these things that help stop it being disabling. 🙄

I found to start with when I swapped from IM to SC it didn’t hurt but I now find it does smart a bit. Stings. I haven’t been at this very long though and I you’re right in saying it’s about finding the right spot. Sorry no help but I sympathise.
