Small update for my daughter

Hi everyone,

I posted about a month ago for my daughter. Thank you to everyone who replied.

healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po...

My daughter's IFAB was negative and the GPs seem to want her to wait until her follow up appt. on 31st July to discuss further. Even though the GP who ordered the test wrote in her notes 'worth trying injections regardless of results'.

Nevermind, I have found out that the original GP is on duty next Tuesday so I'll call up and ask to speak. They seem in no hurry to start injections which is weird.

Or is that more of the 'normal' approach?

Just keep pushing.Depends on symptoms .

The longer it left damage can occur.

Mention this to thd Gp .

They are floundering as rely on blood tests too heavily.

Ask what his / her clinical findings say to them.

What other explanation for hef symptoms ?

That is very much the normal approach.

The worst thing I did was wait on GPs and my health deteriorated rapidly as a result. I personally would get that first injection in a supervised environment and self inject - it won't harm her, so she's everything to gain.

Thanks for that, hmm ....I think I will speak to the gp on Tuesday and urge immediate start, but if that is going to take days or weeks then I will organise as you suggest. I think my sister's neighbour would do it, she works in urology.

The GP doesn't understand the urgency nor B12D, so they take their time. The important thing about the 1st injection is the rare risk of anaphylactic shock, hence the need for a supervised environment, as they'll be able to deal with any issues. The only reason I waited on my GP is because there's no where within easy travelling distance of my home where I could get that 1st jab done. I got the standard 6 doses from GP but was taught to self-inject too, so could carry on treatment alone.
