Dealing with the world of medicine

This article is not related to B12. It is about dealing with a medical system unable to help a suffering patient, until coincidence turned in her favor: an observant doctor whom she was seeing about an unrelated matter put two and two together.

I just so happen to be reading the body keeps the score. My counselor suggested it to me and I started reading it and really liked it but got sidetracked from it. It's sitting on my nightstand at this very moment. I need to pick it back up and start reading it again. I've had a lot of traumatic injuries to my body from accidents and dog attacks and things like that. And definitely the trauma of the incident itself, not even just the injury, can cause serious problems. Your body holds on to all that. One time I had a deep tissue massage, and the lady told me that I could start crying a couple days later and not know why, by releasing all of the tension and the memory that my body was holding on to of the trauma of the dog attack. She started to do the deep massage and I could not believe how much emotion came out of me. I had never had a massage before, so I didn't know what to expect but I was very shocked at how much emotion was coming out of my injuries that she was working on. I strongly believe that our illnesses and injuries and trauma in our life whether mental or physical, stay in the memory of our bodies, not just our brains. In our muscles and our nerves and everything. I think maybe that's why they say stress affects everything in our body. Trauma creates stress and that stress creates physical issues.

I'm going to pick that book back up and finish reading it. Thank you for this post Wiscguy!
