I would tell the nurse but assume she's probably had a read about your previousI visits,

I also have P.A. and I would think (and hope) the nurse has had a read of your past

reasons for going to the surgery.

Of course , tell her . But a B12 injection , which you obviously need , should give you a boost, after having a stroke .

Best wishes for a full recovery .

Agree, I have had TIAs and have no problems. As others have said though, the nurse should be checking all your recent notes before giving any treatment. Good luck 🤞🏻

Hi,

Just wondered how often you're getting B12 injections.

Some UK people here find they need them more often than NHS treatment allows for.

B12 deficiency can lead to raised homocysteine levels.

Raised homocysteine has been associated with an increased risk of stroke in some studies.

A few links about PA and B12 deficiency

PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society)

Based in Wales, UK. Has some overseas members.

pernicious-anaemia-society....

There is a helpline number that PAS members can ring.

PAS membership is separate to membership of this forum.

B12 Info.com (formerly B12 Deficiency Info) website

B12 Awareness (US website)

Stichting B12 Tekort (Dutch website with English articles)

Two useful b12 books

"What You Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia and B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper

Martyn Hooper is the chair of PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society).

"Could it Be B12?: An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart (US authors)

Very comprehensive with lots of case studies.

If you're in UK, there's a lot more info I can pass on. Just let me know if you'd like more.

I'm not medically trained.
