This is just from info I’ve read and been told by the doctor that prescribed my b12 injections.. symptoms are likely to get worse as nerve damage starts repairing and b12 goes to the places that it’s been missing from for a long time .. he described it as reversing out !! Said I would deffo feel worse before I felt better … hope that helps !! Please bear In mind I am not medically trained and this is just my opinion.. my feet are the place that seems to be getting most activities.. last night felt like electric shocks in them .. think it’s just nerves now getting b12

Yrs do not worry.A good sign your body is repairing.

Difficult but a positive response.

Try and persevere.

Hang in there

Yes. It can happen. Sometimes described as early treatment decline. As nerves repair and come back to life, the damage from nerves and other areas affected by the deficiency is felt more strongly. Pins and Needles, electric shock sensations etc. Nerve repair is extremely slow and requires great patience. If untreated for too long, nerves may not recover 100%.

Make sure your blood tests look ok and supplement only whats needed, focus on a good diet and rest. Keep in touch with others for social support to keep your spirits up. It can take months to see noticeable stabilisation and improvements but quite variable. Gentle movement once the worst pains recede will help to hold onto function.

As others have said, it get's worse before it gets better because your nerve cells are repairing. I had horrific pain throughout my body as my nerves started to repair. For me it took about 1.5 months for that pain to go away. The experience will be different for each individual. It is because all the nerve cells that couldn't regenerate are now regenerating all at once. I am a cyano injector for 2 years now. Just as it took a long time to develop the deficiency, it will take a long time to rebuild both your cells and your B12 stores.

Stick with it and eventually it will all feel better.

thanks for your explanation. I am experiencing more needling and tingling since started the treatment. I have had neck an lower back pain for months ( because i was misdiagnosed for three months), the pain is still there but i see some progress but very slowly! different feelings on different days though, if i get stressed out pain is worse:/ how did you manage the pain?

ibuprofen sometimes but mostly just sucked it up. The pain was so bad I would pace and cry. But it took about 1.5 months. Treat yourself in ways you never have, but enjoying a movie or down time that you wouldn't normally do. At that stage I couldn't do much of anything but work.
