I've been using thd NHS app. For repeat prescriptions as nog taken ovef the phone now. B12 ampoules for self sc injection.A written request very slow.

Only to find my repeat prescription has been cancelled. 😠 😡

I had a phone consult by a different GP to discuss blood results as wanted to know how much iron to continue with going bh bloods.

Back in September 2022.

He not only did not answer my simple question but without any mention of b12 decided yo cancel my repeat prescription that day??

Every time I have contact they seem to alter my notes .

Another letter written

What a mess

This really upset me to read of your situation.

I would definitely write a letter, I know Sleepybunny has shared links to write letters which I have used and they were a great help.

If no success could you change GP practice or see another GP in the same practice?

Hope you find a resolution soon.

It seems to be an ongoing saga with many of our surgerys.

Bet if you were to request tranquilizer's they would readily prescribe. How damned frustrating for you to have to keep batting letters.

I hope you manage to get it sorted. 😡 🤞

What a joke. I hadn't heard a word from the ombudsman about my case so rang them this morning. It can take a year to 8mnths for them to investigate ! In that time patients have more than likely forgotten important criteria. 🤬

It is all based on trying to bore you or to give in, or get you to go private, just like quacks and the NHS .

I had exactly the same in 2015, got a letter after 9 months asking me do I want to continue, and the same after 18 months. The letters were from a company in Manchester, not from the Ombudsman.

So sorry Nackapan!! Very frustrating. I hope another letter will help. It seems just to treat ourselves, we have to jump through hoops. Spending all of our energy just trying to get help. It's exhausting. Hard to have any energy left to actually enjoy life. Good luck 🤞

No !

That does not make any sense at all.

Didn't this new lot get a second neurologist's opinion ? Wasn't the result that the second agreed with the first, that you should continue with B12 ?

How can a GP ignore this professional advice and cancel treatment ? After a phone consultation where it was not even mentioned, and to a patient unknown to the GP ?

Exactly .Yes a second neurologist said to continue with my prescription of 2 weekly b12

It was a awful consult I put behind me

To discover it was him cancelling my repeat prescription was unbelievable.

My letter states :

I was not informed as is procedure that a change of prescription index s withdrawal made.

Also thst the telephone consult dud not answer a simple question on iron.

Also mentioned him going on at length about My notes in s mess on systmOne

Which was not my problem

And I'd tried to address several times

Basically saying how it was.

I hope he gets a rocket put under him.

His doing as was going to leave it.

Almost feels like spite ??

Why wouldn't it ?

I felt the same about the panicking GP I saw once, about my increasing heart arrhythmia, while my own GP was on holiday. He managed to get my NHS B12 injections stopped because I was also self injecting- all before my GP returned to work. He wrote me a letter on behalf of the practice !

When my GP returned, she pointed out to me that in fact it changed nothing: she would still be able to monitor folate, ferritin, vitamin D and thyroid levels etc - and obviously not B12 as it was pointless. She continued to make referrals to consultants.

Sadly, she has now left and if I have a telephone appointment, I might end up with the one who stopped my B12 injections ! No thanks !
