Hi everyone, I've just had retrospective confirmation that I was B12 deficient. After 6 injections have improved my RBC, MCH, WCC and heamoglobin. My heamotoligist wants to test me for MMA and intrinsic factor. How long do I need to leave the tests after an injection?
Will the MMA be skewed from the loading doses?

I think with IFA (Intrinsic factor Antibody) test, some say leave at least 48 hours after a B12 injection before testing IFA and some say leave up to two weeks.
Diagnostic flowchart below indicates that doctors should consider continuing treatment in patients whose symptoms improve on b12 treatment even if results of MMA, homocysteine and active B12 (holotranscobalamin) tests are normal range.
See bottom right of flowchart.
Diagnostic flowchart from BSH Cobalamin and Folate Guidelines which mentions Antibody Negative PA.
