Wonder if this will affect those of us that get B12 injections done by a nurse at our GP surgeries.

Hopefully forward-thinking doctors will allow us to self inject. We’ll see.

Anything is possible these days.
My surgery was turned into a vaccination centre when I got ill. And there was no functioning phone system. Patients could expect to hear from a Doctor after 24 hours if they filled in an econsult. Then, they had to take themselves into the surgery for a blood test form that they then had to arrange themselves in a nearby hospital because the surgery was jabbing everyone.
That appointment would be at least 4 days away. So essentially about a month to get any treatment.
Now, because the NHS is burnt out, its probably double the time.
Best thing all round is to inject yourself
we must have the same surgery Pickle500 it’s a mirror image of mines lol,I have always self injected but wanted my 3 month one I’m entitled to via nurse I got them to agree to reinstate injections after a costly letter from my private haemotoligist confirming p.a shots are for life but I decided to dodge the bullet of Covid queues for injections around the surgery and so haven’t had the pleasure of an nhs injection for around 2 years now.x
I really do wonder how much money could be saved by making b12 injections available at pharmacies, OTC.
Nurses will most likely vote to strike in the next weeks. And this will put more of us at risk.
If the NHS loses money by appointing nurses to do our B12 injections, why can they not outsource to pharmacies? It's a legal loophole I believe but the law is clearly an ass when it comes to B12.
We desperately need to reform healthcare! Keep the good work of NHS, but support it. Clapping out of our windows is not going to make the difference we need.
A neighbor informed me the other day that our local surgery is not providing flu jabs this year and that we have to find a pharmacy that is doing them
In Scotland GPs no longer do vaccinations. There is a vaccination team in each Health Board area which sends out appointments, presumably leaving GPs to get on with their everyday work. It seems to work so far.
Gp surgery is actually asking you to support them by getting vaccines as they make money for their business... this is not 'healthcare', its pushing drugs for money.
well they won't get our family to having any more injections. Very keen to make money giving them, NOT so keen when you get seriously ill from them. I would love to use them as a pin cushion and see how they would like it.
frozen shoulder and paralysis !!!
