Folic acid dosage

Can anyone advise me on the dosage of folic acid please.Should 1tablet a day be necessary throughout life when having PA and on B12.Many thanks .

I go by blood results

Although I'm b12 deficient and vit d and now need iron. My folate level has been okay . So j personally do not need more than whats in a multivit

My daughter has 400mcg daily .

She stopped and she soon got folate deficiency symptoms so needs to take it daily

Green leafy veg. Oranges ect .ors if folare in lots of daily foods

400mcg daily is recommended for women of child bearing age.

Most multivits Contain 200mcg

So 200-400mcg perhais try ?

Thank you Nackapan, I don’t have the need for regular blood tests and at the moment don’t want to request one.GPS are busy enough.Initially I was given general advice but that was about 5yrs ago!

400mcg or 400ug is enough and safe daily unless you’re deficient then doctor prescribes you 5mg. But 400mcg is normal recommended daily amount whether you’re taking it on its own or if it’s in a multivitamin….you can read on the back of a multivitamin it’s usually 400mcg.

Maybe you can request a full blood test which would include this to see where your levels are at.
