Low active B12

Hi, JustReceived my results back from Thriva. My active B12 has dropped from 63 (May) to 45. Unfortunately because they have not recommended I check MMA, I am struggling to get my GP to act on my result. My folate is 19.3 (30 in may). It’s impossible to contact Thriva As the email address is wrong and nobody getting back to me on messenger. Any ideas where I go next please?

I’m not sure if I go to the expense of getting a private MMA if the GP won’t do anything with the result. Thanks

Can you give the reference ranges?

Active b12 is 37.5-188 and folate 8.83-60.8. I realise these are still within range but I know there is a grey area with the active B12 when it drops below 70

Hi Pomart, I’ve just read your message & it’s some months ago now, so hopefully you will have resolved. There is a link on your Thriva account to send message & they reply promptly enough. You can also send email to Thriva (just search web for their details), & again I found they reply quite quickly. I have just received my Active B12 which my GP said is low, yet Thriva have stated as Normal. So I have started B12 supplementation & wll retest in 3 months.
