SI B12

Hello I am struggling with facial pain and will be self injecting B12 soon. I bought some from amazon.de but found out that it contains cyanide, I'd preferably want to use methylcobalamin or hydroxocobalamin, anyone know where to get it for a good rate (for long term use). Also supplies to inject? What needles and syringes should I use? Thank you in advance for your replies

Please note that if you are in the UK it is illegal to supply injectable B12 for medical purposes without a prescription.

Although there is a lot of misinformation about suggesting that methyl cobalamin is a purer form that is based on some rather outdated understandings of how B12 gets from blood to cells and hydroxo and cyano should be just as good.

The cyanide in cyanocobalamin is very difficult to remove from the B12 molecule - cyanocobalamin. Hydroxocobalamin is used as the treatment of choice for cyanide poisoning because it binds to the cyanide producing cyanocobalamin which isn't dangerous. The amounts that would get into your blood would be trace amounts at best - and less significant than amounts that could potentially be found in some fruit juices (because of the amounts in some pips).

The use of cyanocobalamin is only contra-indicated if you have lebers - a very rare genetic condition that makes the carrier particularly susceptible to the cyanide molecule.

The amount of cyanide in Cynocobalamin is MINISCULE. and presents no danger at all , The.Cyanide involved is about the same amount that is in a few apple pips . It was used in the U.K. for many years , until Hydroxocobalamin was formulated which was reckoned to stay in the system longer, so it took over from Cynocobalamin. Cynocobalamin is successfully used in the USA still . Here are some sources for Hydroxocobalamin that can be obtained from German online pharmacies .

“Depot” indicates Hydroxocobalamin, which is what the NHS uses . Amazon delivery charges are reasonable.

Don't worry about the Cyanide in Cyanocobalamin. It's a widely produced and prescribed product, and the cyanide is bound, and at a very low concentration. Apple pips contain cyanide, but don't need a health warning. Even so, I don't eat the pips, but not because of the cyanide. If there was any risk whatsoever, then it's unlikely that cyanocobalamin would be so widely prescribed!
