Slow Healing

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had the same dilemma. I need a full knee replacement and one of the things worrying and holding me back is the fact I seem to be a slow healer and I put that down to my PA, has anyone else been through anything similar.

I had two partially torn Achilles that did not heal for 7 years (among other things) before I was treated for PA. now I seem to heal reasonably well. I have been treated for 3.5 years, increased to weekly injections 1.5 years ago. Good luck!!!

Yep, years ago when this all started slow skin healing was one of my first sighs that something way badly wrong. A scratch would turn into a red mark that would take simply months/years to disappear. Still does sadly.

A friend of mine has an underactive thyroid and tells me it causes her to heal very slowly from wounds etc.

As autoimmune thyroid issues can go hand in hand with PA I wonder if you’ve had your thyroid levels checked recently?
