OPD Endoscopy

I got My OPD endoscopy done - 2 months back and the reports were all normal ..... Do I still need to do a IF Antibody test as symptoms of b12 still linger & ringing in ears still continue - with no changes . Dr's feel the symptoms are also similar to anxiety and I may be suffering from it. My B12 levels checked last week were 531.3 pg/ml and say it is all normal ...... I have been now taking Jarrow b12 sublinguals sometimes to keep my levels up ........ Plan to meet an ENT for the ringing but dont know if it will help.

Useful to have a IF antybody test . If negative you could still have PAIf there ard high levels of b12 in your blood usually when injecting its possible it to havd a false positive test result!

So not great test but cdn be used as part of the picture.

Anxiety is a symptom of b12 deficiency.

I was told in a and e before I knew what was wrong I was having an anxiety attack.

I was not!!

I couldn't walk. My pupils were dilated in a lit room.

I hind sight they probably thought I'd taken a illegal drug.

As that was the line if questioning.

Soic yih ferm the anxiety is new and not experienced before believe in your 'gut 'feelings

Scientist, not medic...

If you're maintaining a normal B12 level with oral B12 then it's unlikely that you'd have IF antibodies, but it's an easy test to do. However, the lab might not advise it if your B12 level is quite normal. Good luck.
