My last b12 bloods were 314 pretty much exactly 2 years ago. I've had so many scans, tests for what started out as extreme fatigue and frequent urination. Never had a solid diagnosis.
Around 2 months ago the fatigue got worse and I noticed weakness/numbness tingling in my legs in a morning. I've not got muscle spasms on and off tingling sensations. Pain in hands, feet and headaches. I can sleep for 12 hours and never ever feel fresh.
I'm sad to say but I've over consumed alcohol until full abstinence 3 months ago.
I sent off for private bloods saturday, I should have result for b12, folate and intrinsic factor in a couple of days.
I'm so worried I'm constantly in bed, in pain. Is 314 a low enough read to feel effects??
Thanks for reading x

to be honest - if your results 2 years apart were pretty much the same then it doesn't suggest you have a B12 absorption problem. The body regulates serum b12 using stores of B12 in the liver but having an absorption problem means you can't access this store as efficiently so the levels start dropping. If they drop by 20%+ that's good evidence of a B12 absorption problem - because 20% is the accuracy of the test.Your symptoms sound like B12 deficiency but there is a huge overlap with other conditions so ... See what the new tests say.
Having said a B12 absorption problem isn't indicated that doesn't rule out B12 being involved in some way but it would be through one or more of the genes that control the way B12 is processed in the body - there are a lot of those - homocysteine and MMA tests can give an indication of whether or not your cells are getting enough B12 and genetics is really off topic for this forum. If you do go down the genetics route please try to do it in conjunction with a genetic counsellor.
Thanks Nackapan that's right. Managed to speak to GP this morning will do full blood work on Thursday for thyroid, blood counts, liver, diabetes etc.
I checked the status of my private b12, folate, intrinsic factor and the samples have been recieved back this morning so I am hoping to get those results either later today or tomorrow.
