I was told I needed b12 injections for life as I can’t absorb b12. Then covid came and they were stopped by the doctors and I was told to take 1000 ug. A day. My symptoms of aching bones muscle pain and sore mouth have gone after a year. Could it be the tablets have worked? I would like to take a test, but would it be a true reading if I have been taking tablets.

The test will test your blood levels so in that sense it will give a true reading, regardless of whether you have been taking tablets or not.The fact that symptoms are going is a more significant indicator of what is going on.
It is possible that tablets are working for you - it was a nasal spray that really enabled me to recover rather than injections ... and I started that whilst I was waiting for ampoules to arrive - so it isn't impossible that the tablets are what you need.
Well thats great if your symptoms have gone. If you've managed for a year on tablets ...result !!
Scientist, not medic.
Some folks can absorb mega doses of oral B12 and it looks like you're one of them. Good luck. The serum B12 level would be valid, but the symptoms are a better guide overall. Well done!
