What dose hydroxocobalamin?

What is a typical dose and dose interval for chronic use in PA? In the US cyanocobalamin is routinely used but it’s synthetic (eg 1000mcg every 2 weeks). No great conversion info available.

Hydroxocobalamin is also synthetic. As is the methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin you can buy. Indeed, all three are made from cyanocobalamin.

The proper dose of hydroxocobalamin is 1 mg injections as often as is required to keep symptoms at bay.

The standard dose, recommended to doctors, is 1 mg, intramuscular, every two to three months.

Hi, I'm also here in the US. What is "chronic use"? Have you had problems with cyanocobalamin?

I've had a decrease in efficacy after taking it for a long time (i.e. chronic use). Also, so much discussion among the natural community that since the cyanide needs to be removed from cobalamin in the body, it might not be as effective or safe.

As far as I know the only way to get natural B12 is the B12 in found in animal sources. I'm pretty sure the stuff we inject is all synthetic, made in a lab.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said "natural" in my original message, I just really meant not cyanocobalamin. Turns out I can't find hydroxocobalamin anyway, so I'll just intermix with methylcobalamin when finances allow or when I have a dip in efficacy. In the meantime I'm switching to weekly injections from every 2 weeks.
