Yes definitely because b12 deficiency can cause atrophy in so many areas of the body so I would go so far as to say anyone suffering from interstitial bladder issues could only benefit from b12 supplementation.I went through torture with this along with vag atrophy and tried every hormone and pessarie and treatments under the sun and it wasn’t until I started injecting with b12 that I now have no problems at all with either,I have confirmed pernicious anemia and kidney stones so as you can imagine I needed all the help I could get to alleviate all the nasty symptoms thats goes with them.So in short that’ll be a yes lol.good luck x

Severe vitamin B12 deficiency over an extended period can cause urinary incontinence. ( Can also cause faecal incontinence ) If this is the problem , address this condition straight away , or it can become irreversible. .

Yes. I have to wear inco pads. This is due to unreversible damage due to late diagnosis

Thank you all for your replies! I know I'm not alone in this now, thank God it's not just me. But my current dr isn't taking this seriously. So difficult to get a proper diagnosis. She has me on monthly b12 shots for the next 11 months but it's not enough.

Yes , many of us have suffered from doctor’s ignorance of B12 deficiency / pernicious Anaemia . Perhaps you will have to consider self -injecting B12 ? If so , come back here for advice and help

Just noticed that you are in Canada . If you wish to self- inject , it’s fortunate that you can obtain injectable B12 over the counter, without a prescription .

Oh really? I was unaware that I could purchase it over the counter! Awesome! I may have to do that.

You can definitely buy B12 for injection at canadadrugsuperstore.com. They have vitamin B12 cynocobalamin made by Sandoz in multi-use vials and in single-use ampoules , the latter being the safest way of injecting . They also have needles and syringes . I inject I.M. into my thighs , using the Vastus Laterals muscle where it is closest to the surface in the middle outer third of the thigh . I use single use ampoules. I use a long blunt needle to extract the B12 from the ampoule , and then change to the injection needle 25G x1 inch . expelling all air first . You can get information on the internet about injecting .

Yes I believe I suffered from this for a period of at least 5 years before I was diagnosed with PA,B12 deficency. I was in my early 40's at the time. Also had numbness and tingling in hands and feet plus poorer balance. Now no longer an issue as it has gradually resolved. I have been on 6 weekly injections for at least 10 years. Still have arguments with GP who thinks 3 monthly injections or nasal sprays OK. Taken up self injecting in covid era which is liberating BUT I worry what will happen in old age when I can no longer SI. GP will no doubt revert to 3 monthly injections and symptoms could manifest as dementia!!!

That is my concern too natterjack1 I had awful debilitating I.C. doctor said no such thing and just kept doing urine tests that came back negative. Still get cloudy urine and discomfort from time to time but nothing like it was. Can envisage old people’s home where SI won’t be an option, not a good prospect 😞

Yes, I had an issue of constantly having to hold my bladder especially while walking and couldn’t figure out why. Condition fully resolved once I underwent B-12 injections and it was fairly quickly.

I have an enlarged prostate gland that's not unusual for older men. However every other day B12 injections appear to be reducing the prostate so the symptoms are declining - hesitant start of flow - intermittent flow - low flow etc. B12 is like a multitool I suspect and heavy treatment seems to allow many structures and systems to repair. Including quantity and colour of body hair - wrinkles - age spots - etc.

I have problems with stress incontinence and general leakiness that means I have tried every kind of environmentally friendly kind of liner/ pad/ pee-proof pants etc. I am now injecting monthly and notice a really increase in problems towards the day I inject. Also have continuous back pain and symptoms of UTI which I have had antibiotics for 3 times in the last 4 months. Doctor threatening more tests but I think it is all B12 and know I will get nowhere with that argument and that doc since he doesn't believe in "running out" of B12. I hope you can keep up your B12 levels and that it helps the problem go away.

Wow!!!! I have just read this thread and can relate to so much here. I have been suffering with bladder problems and vag atrophy and had absolutely no idea that these could be linked to B 12 deficiency. Like Thrones, I have tried hormones and pessaries with no improvement. I've been receiving B 12 injections since September last year and am definitely now starting to see an improvement with the bladder issues.Thank you all so much for the information on this site, it has been such a help.
