Hi, do you know if I can order Methylcobalamin b12 injection anywhere?

fbirder profile image
fbirder in reply to Withoutscrpit

I don't. But there have been posts saying where it can be bought.

There's no reason hy methylcobalamin should be better than hydroxocobalamin. It's more difficult to find, less stable, more expensive, no more effective and more likely to cause unpleasant side-effects.

Great, thanks for getting back so quick, after 3 weeks of taking NAC my sinus has improved, best yet. I then found out that B12 is involved in the natural process of NAC. I was researching all that when I came across methylcobalamin, some sites recommending it for high homocysteine levels in relation to b12 etc. Thanks for the info fbirder🤗.

I've been on hydroxo for years for b12 absorbtion problems after being really ill for a long time and getting worse, then eventually got injections but Dr in Ireland not working off high enough levels etc so I self inject now, much better. Thanks again, Niamh

We, in the U.K are having trouble getting our B12 ampoules from the usual German online pharmacies . It is said this is because of Brexit . But as you are in Ireland , you should not have this problem . You could try using the pharmacies — bodfeld-apotheke.de Or versandapo.de . If you have no luck there, then try try the sites that fbirder and SallyRees have suggested . In the U.K. the NHS use Hydroxocobalamin B12 . there is also Cynocobalamin B12 available ,which is also OK , but needs injecting a little more often . B12 ampoules some in 1mg x 1ml ampoules and 1mg x 2ml ampoules . We mostly use the 1mg x 1ml ampoules B12 Hydroxocobalamin.Rotexmedica manufacture these so search for them — Rotexmedica B12 depot ( “ depot “indicating that the B12 is Hydroxocobalamin ) In Ireland you can obtain needles syringes etc from medguard.ie.

Just noticed that medguard want you to spend €100 Wow !

Try the U.K. site medisave.co.uk for needles syringes etc There is no minimum spend there.

Hi Wedgwood, please can you help me. I took the plunge , singed up for a PayPal account, then tried ordering from vanderspo.de. it was all going so well!!!! Got to payment then a box said, PLZ- Ungultiges Format. I tried postcode then full address but it refused both. Any help gratefully received🙏🙏 thank you

wedgewood in reply to Mrsmr

PLZ -ungultiges format means that your postal code ( PLZ) Has the wrong formation . You need to have the country of delivery already in place when you type in the postal code . The computer knows if the wrong type of postal code is entered , and they don’t match up . In your place I would register . If I remember correctly , you need to tap on the little human shaped figure to get to the right place to do that . You need to put in your email address and a password . You will need to put your full address in , BUT put in your country first of all by using the drop-down list of countries . THE U.K. is listed in German as VEREINIGTES KÖNIGREICH GROSSBRITANIENS . Then the U.K. postal code will be accepted . Once that is done , there will be no problem, and next time you will be able to sign in quickly I hope this helps .

Bingo it worked. Thank you so much. Next question how much do you inject. Sorry to be such a pest.

wedgewood profile image
wedgewood in reply to Mrsmr

You are not a pest .If this is to be your first B12 injection , you should have someone with you , in case of anaphylactic shock . This is very rare , but you should be aware .

Firstly , administer loading doses which are 6 injections over 2 weeks .

Thereafter as regularly as is needed to keep symptoms at bay .

This differs from person to person . I inject once a week.

Sorry harmony2 but I can’t agree the link you’ve supplied is a good one. The B12 supplied is in a 30ml vial, in other words, a multi use vial. This is not recommended due to the possibility of contamination with bacteria and other toxins. Single use vials are recommended.

It’s also very expensive and the 30ml vial costs about the same as 100 1ml single use vials from Germany.

As a UK company I’d also question how they have got round the requirement for a prescription.

harmony2 in reply to JanD236

Wow. that was very informative! Can you refresh me on the Germany supplier? (if that is allowed on this forum or suggestions :)

JanD236 in reply to harmony2

If you use the search facility or scroll through posts over the last couple of weeks you’ll see there’s been plenty of discussion about sourcing B12 from Germany as supplies have been disrupted recently.

From memory, people have recently had success obtaining supplies from apohealth.de.

"As a UK company I’d also question how they have got round the requirement for a prescription."

Because they aren't selling it to treat a B12 deficiency. It's a 'Dietary Supplement'. Presumably the syringes are to help you squirt it on your cornflakes.

Agree.

I wish I had no morals. Then I, too, could make my fortune fleecing people. Unfortunately my conscience wouldn't allow me to charge people ridiculous sums of cash for something so harmful.

the supply of injectible saline is covered by the prescription only rules as it is an injectible substance. There are risks of contamination if not doing in a sterile environment so it isn't something generally recommended.

dibencozide is another name for adenosylcobalamin. There is a very rare genetic variant that means people with that variant cannot convert methyl to adenosyl - hence the recommendation to take both.

I’m confused by the dosage of hydroxo offered……10,000mcg in 2ml? Isn’t this 10 times the normal dose?

JenMartins profile image
JenMartins in reply to JanD236

Yes it is an a total game changer for me and what is a "normal dose" I have used many different dosages 1000, 2000, 5000. What is normal?

JanD236 profile image
JanD236 in reply to JenMartins

Normal is 1,000mcg.
