oh dear I have lost three teeth (just fell out) in the past couple of months. My daughter found a paper on the internet linking tooth loss with b12 deficiency. Any help with this...I feel devastated?
three down and counting...: oh dear I... - Pernicious Anaemi...
three down and counting...
The only solution is more B12 injections and supporting supplements.
I lost 4 teeth and know of others who lost more than this. Because of malabsorption problems this year affecting the efficacy of my B12 jabs I lost the nerves in another tooth and it cost me over £800.00 to save it.
It's horrible and I think the only answer is to self inject. I and others I know of with such bad nerve damage SI every day.
You must get enough B12 and supporting supplements to keep your symptoms at bay if possible, or at least to a minimum.
There is plenty of help and information on here to enable you to do it.
Well done on finding this turning point and good luck with getting better.
I have had trouble with my teeth since being diagnosed with PA I lost 3 teeth in a very short time after years with very few problems. I also get pain in my jaw where I lost the teeth from but after X Rays and investigations nothing has been found
Yes, I had to have nearly all of the teeth out because of pernicious anemia, my dentist said it is a side effect that teeth suffer. Gums shrink etc . Just one more thing! Got dentures, but one day, they nearly fell in the cat's dish, I was bending down and talking to the cat and they fell. Luckily I managed to grab them. Had to laugh though.
